Additional Support Between GI Visits

Whether you're newly diagnosed, experiencing a flare, in remission, or managing ongoing symptoms, digestive conditions often affect more than physical symptoms alone.

Symptoms, nutrition concerns, stress, and day-to-day challenges can all affect quality of life.

The SideBy Care Program works alongside your GI provider to help you build skills, practical tools, and helpful habits for managing symptoms, nutrition, stress, and day-to-day challenges.

A Personalized Approach to Care

The SideBy Care Program is not a one-size-fits-all program.

Your care is personalized and tailored to your symptoms, diagnosis, goals, and stage of treatment. Whether you're newly diagnosed, experiencing a flare, in remission, or managing ongoing symptoms, our team meets you where you are.

The program is designed to help you:

  • Better understand factors that may affect your symptoms

  • Improve nutrition habits and eating patterns

  • Manage stress and other factors that can affect symptoms

  • Improve quality of life

  • Build skills and healthy habits that support long-term digestive health

They constantly send signals to each other— affecting how you feel, digest and respond to stress.

How the Gut and Brain Work Together

Mind-Gut Influencers - 2026 March-03.png

The gut and brain communicate through nerves, hormones, and the immune system, creating a two-way connection that can influence digestive health and quality of life.

Your digestive system and nervous system are constantly communicating.

This ongoing two-way communication is often referred to as the gut-brain connection.

The gut-brain connection recognizes that digestive symptoms are real and that symptoms, nutrition, stress, sleep, and daily habits can all influence one another.

Understanding these connections can help patients better understand their symptoms and identify approaches that support digestive health and quality of life.

Why this Approach Works

Research shows that learning practical skills for managing symptoms, nutrition, and stress can help people better manage digestive conditions and improve day-to-day well-being. Learn more about the IBS and IBD research.
